Founded in 1973 by Jack Kelly, Bulk Carriers (P.E.I.) Limited emerged from the agricultural heartland of Prince Edward Island, deeply rooted in farming traditions. Jack's early years instilled in him a strong work ethic and an innovative spirit.
Amidst the economic challenges of the 1960s and 70s, Jack saw an opportunity. With strategic foresight, he transformed a tanker trailer into a petroleum transportation venture. Building on his father's legacy, Jack established Bulk Carriers, driven by necessity and entrepreneurship.
Initially, Bulk Carriers focused on transporting petroleum from Charlottetown's marine terminal to service stations across Prince Edward Island. However, Jack's vision for growth led to the diversification of services, making Bulk Carriers a leading provider of refrigerated and logistics services throughout Canada and the USA.
Bulk Carriers' journey includes landmark projects like the construction of the Confederation Bridge and highway projects in New Brunswick and the Magdalen Islands in Quebec. These milestones reflect Bulk Carrier's seizing opportunities and embracing change with resilience and innovation. Today, Bulk Carriers is a leader in transportation and logistics, operating over 100 trucks and 200 trailers. We offer expertise in hauling dry freight and temperature-controlled goods across North America. The establishment of Kelcold, a 130,000-square-foot cold storage facility in Moncton, NB, underscores our dedication to innovation and customer satisfaction. At Bulk Carriers, we are not just transporting goods; we are shaping modern logistics with our relentless pursuit of excellence. Our journey combines tradition and innovation, driving us to redefine the standards of transportation and storage solutions across North America.
